Week 7: Girls Basketball Rankings

WV Girls Prep Basketball

2011-12 Stack

Week 7 – January 17, 2012

Class AAA

.What RSN Sports is tracking – Greenbrier East jumps to the top of the stack after knocking off previous number one South Charleston on the road.  The Lady Spartans are now the only AAA undefeated team (11-0).

Bridgeport climbs to number three behind an eight game winning streak.

Princeton drops four spots after losing its first two games of the year this week.

RSN Sports sees the top three to five teams as favorites for March.  However, the pool of dark horse candidates runs deep into our stack with even some “Others” capable of making some noise at tournament time.

Key games this week:

#1 Greenbrier East (11-0) hosts Capital (6-6) and travels to Woodrow Wilson (7-2)

#2 South Charleston (8-1) @ Woodrow Wilson (7-2)

#4 Morgantown (10-2) @  #5 University (9-2)

#6 Wheeling Park (12-2) hosts John Marshall (8-4)

What RSN Sports is tracking- Class AA has a new number one after longer than two years.  Scott (9-1) takes over the number one spot but does so with a blemish courtesy of #7 Chapmanville (8-3) earlier in the week.  Summers County (9-1) drops modestly to number two.

Most top ten teams survived the week unscathed and kept the stack steady.
